D’Angelo Gardens Market Garden

Located right in the heart of Nassau County, our nearly two-acre garden uses regenerative, no-till, organic farming principles to grow fresh local produce for everyone.

Though the garden itself is young, our practices (and our crops) are rooted in a multi-generational commitment to purposeful regenerative farming. When Gennaro D’Angelo brought the first Pomodori D’Angelo with him to New York from Naples after WWII, his heirloom tomato was just that—an heirloom, something by which he could remember his family and the tastes of home. Since then we have been able to keep his tradition alive by a careful process of seed-saving, and today we produce the same delicious tomatoes that Gennaro D’Angelo first planted in New York over 70 years ago.

With our ever-expanding list of crops, when you visit D’Angelo Gardens, you can also expect to find: arugula, basil, beans, beets, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, chives, cilantro, cucumber, eggplant, flowers (zinnia, marigold, tulips, daffodils, sunflowers and more), garlic, lettuce heads, kale, leeks, onion, parsley, peppers, potatoes, radish, salad mix, scallions, snap peas, spinach, summers quash, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, winter squash and zucchini, and so much more!

We believe in healthy and delicious food. That is why, in addition to serving local farmers’ markets and restaurants, D’Angelo Gardens is proud to make donations to local food pantries and soup kitchens.
