OUR MISSION
To educate and help grow a healthier and more sustainable future through natural gardening, farming, and landscaping practices. To transform outdoor spaces into something that is not only beautiful, but nourishing. To support families and communities get back to the earth and learn to work with nature not against it.
TREATING WATER AS A RESOURCE
A sustainable landscaping approach would be to treat water as a valuable resource. With proper design and plant selection, the need for irrigation can be reduced or eliminated. Also, rainwater collection can be used to capture storm water on site and use it for irrigation.
VALUING OUR SOIL
Many of us refer to soil as dirt, but dirt is dead and soil is very much alive. The most common problems with our soil is compaction, long term use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides and insecticides, and the lack of compost and other organic matter. All of this leads to unhealthy soil that is on its way to being called dirt.
PLANTING NATIVES
Our native plants have learned how to survive our climate for millennia, by using plants adapted to our environment the need for watering, fertilizing and pest management is in most cases eliminated.
